The royal varietal is native to the Cazorla mountains in Jaén, Spain, going back hundreds of years of cultivation. Royal olives have suffered a drastic reduction in their cultivation due to the complexity of harvesting, and it is close to disappearing. Castillo de Canena recovered this unique varietal on their farm and produced the most exceptional quality available.
Displays bright, fruity green olive notes complemented with aromas of mature fruits and sweets—fresh grass, green banana, artichoke, and, secondly, tropical pineapple, kiwi fruits. The palate is delicate and elegant. Harmonious.
