Bitters are traditionally known as cocktail flavoring made from bittering agents of plant extracts and botanicals such as wormwood, cassia, gentian, chinchona bark. Most bitters contain water and alcohol. They are also medicinal promoting appetite and or digestion.

In mixology terms, bitters are referred to as the "salt and pepper" of the cocktail world because they enhance cocktails by adding complexity.

Tinctures do not contain bittering agents, and you can use any flavoring along with a high proof spirit to create copious profiles such as bitter, sweet, and or spicy. They also aid in stimulating medicinal qualities.
