Bitters + Tinctures

Cocktail Bitters are alcoholic non-beverages made from herbs, spices, fruits, and peels infused with alcohol or glycerin that present a bitter or bittersweet flavor. Ingredients include gentian, quinine, cassia, cinchona bark, and orange peels. Bitters are an essential ingredient to cocktails, the “salt and pepper” of cocktail drinks. In addition, bitters enhance flavors by adding complexity. Bitters are also therapeutic, promoting appetite and digestion.

Tinctures do not contain bittering agents. You can use any flavoring and a high-proof spirit to create copious profiles such as bitter, sweet, and spicy—tinctures also aid in stimulating therapeutic qualities.
